How to change your default pdf browser in mac?

pexels-photo-209137.jpegAs a Mac user one might find the need to use various pdf readers like Foxit, Adobe and preview. I use all three, depending on my purpose. And we all generally have a favourite pdf reader in which we want our pdf files to open by default. My preferred one is Foxit.

So how to change from preview to Foxit or Adobe or vice versa? (More …)

How to save a web page as pdf in safari on mac pc?

Saving web pages as pdf in safari browser in mac pc is very easy and convenient. And there are multiple ways do it.

To start –> simply hit the print button on your safari browser or press command+p.

A drop-down type screen will appear where there will be a drop-down menu mentioned pdf –> click on it and hit ‘save as pdf’ –> rest is self-explanatory I suppose.

However, you can do much more in your safari browser.

If the page you are trying to save as pdf doesn’t fit properly in the preview window (that came up after clicking command+p) then click escape and try the following two options-

    1. Click esc and then set page zoom at 100 points by press command+0 –> now again follow steps as above and the print should happen perfectly.
    2. If the above doesn’t help–> pressing command + p –> then try the other orientation button in the display panel beside where its written orientation–> something like landscape changing

Finally another amazing feature in mac-safari. You can actually save different web pages as pdf at different folders. How? Follow these steps –

    1. Hit the print button on your safari browser or press command + p
    2. A drop-down type screen will appear where there will be a drop-down menu mentioned pdf –> click on it
    3. From the drop-down menu choose the last option edit menu
    4. Now click the plus sign
    5. Choose your desired folder where you want to save in your mac and hit enter and then ok
    6. No return to the drop-down menu–> you can find the name of the folder you just added.
    7. You can add multiple such folders and also can remove it using the minus sign that can be found beside the plus sign you clicked in step 4
    8. Now while trying to save any page just choose the desired folder from the drop-down panel and every time it will save a lot of your time.
    9. Hope someday safari make the process more simple so that we don’t have to hit the drop down every time.

How to save pages as PDFs in your iPad device?

Those who were users of computers and now started to use the iPad, a common deficiency many users feel, is the lack of printing or saving facility of desired webpages as PDFs in their iPad device, alike they do in their regulars laptops or pcs.

Until recently to the best of my knowledge no such facility really existed, other than taking screenshots, but now there is one, which is quite handy and user friendly.

Try the following to save a PDF of print of a webpage of your interest:

    1. To use the service you need use the Chrome browser of ‘Google’. Which is easily available at your app store.
    2. After this download the Google Drive app from the store.
    3. Log in with your ID to your Google drive account.
    4. Once your Chrome browser is ready to use, open a desired web page, which you wish to save as PDF.
    5. Next, tap on the small icon at top right of your screen in the browser, which displays the various list of options like- ‘New Tab’ etc.  Scroll down the list until you reach the option ‘Print’.
    6. This will display you the options via which you can print or save as PDF. Choose the Google option and it will prompt you to save to your Google Drive.
    7. Rest is easy, give a name to your document if you wish and save it.
    8. Now your doc is available at your Google Drive, where you can view it and store it to your local folder, so that you can view when you are offline. If you are using some other PDF reader app you can easily convert to that too.

Hope, the above info will help you save your desired webpages as PDFs in your iPad device with much more ease.
